Can Hypnosis be used to achieve a better health?
Yes, of course. The mind has a direct influence on the body so being Hypnosis the best tool to work with both the Conscious and the Subconscious mind it can be very well used to get better health. Stress for example is a mental or emotional state yet it has direct effects on the body like digestion, breath rate, heart rate, etcetera. Psychoneuroimmunology has shown that the mind influences the Immune System and the ability of the body to fight against diseases, infections, viruses, etcetera.
What the Lemon can teach about using Hypnosis for better health.
To demonstrate that the mind directly influence the body just imagine that you are biting a beautiful, full of juice lemon; just imagine to feel its taste on your tongue. Haven’t you begun salivating? Isn’t this a body reaction? But you’re not actually biting anything, it’s just imagination taking place only in your mind; that is your mind directly influences your body and if it is such than it can be used for better health. The mind can do it, just don’t pretend it happens in a snap.
It can’t happen immediately for two reasons mainly: the first one is that changes in our body, both negative or positive, take time to happen and the second one is that there is a kind of safety mechanism working particularly well. The body is mainly under the influence of the Subconscious mind and it doesn’t really like changes especially if benefits aren’t clear. Also it can’t be so simply to provoke changes to our body using the mind otherwise what could happen when someone is angry? We’re not made to be like Mr. Fantastic.
The lemon example above definitely shows that better health is possible using the mind and the best tool for this which is Hypnosis, but that is one of the simplest thing to do. Influencing ourselves to eating healthy or train more requires changing habits and it’s not that difficult, boosting the Immune System or improving the functionality of an organ takes even more time. Seven years on average are needed to change completely the human body and if in this time span we focus the mind consistently on a positive change it can definitely happen.
Hypnosis is the best tool to improve communication between the Conscious and the Subconscious mind, the left and right brain hemispheres. When the mind works as a whole almost everything can be achieved. Clearly within reason, you can’t probably develop wings to fly but you can certainly increase the number and power of your white blood cells for example. If you can, through Imagination, make your salivary glands to react to a non-existent lemon is there really any difference from making your Immune System to destroy any enemy? Beside that you are used to your salivary glands work?
I think it’s the same only that we arent so good to imagine or recall how our inner body systems work; that’s why Hypnosis helps, not only because it makes the mind as a whole but because while in a trance imagining is easy. One image I use a lot is “seeing” my Immune System as an infinite number of Roman Legionaries passing through diseases or enemy cells like a scythe on a cornfield. Other example are Jedi Knights, Medieval Knights or simply white rabbits eating carrots. It seems a bit strange normally talking but becomes easy and working very well while under Hypnosis.
At the end it’s all in our mind since “What your mind can conceive and believe it can achieve“, as Napoleon Hill said.
So, better health through Hypnosis is definitely possible and whatever your conditions it can help or at least improve them; it is not magic but an extremely great tool. For habits, mental wellness or simple body reactions Hypnosis works usually pretty fast, for deeper changes it takes more time but it’s always worth trying.
Better health is possible, believe it and achieve it.
