The winner between the Conscious and the Subconscious Mind is….. it depends.
Sometimes the Subconscious Mind is the winner, sometimes the winner is the Conscious Mind, in any case you can have much better results if they work together in agreement. This way you can have almost 100 percent chance to succeed. If instead one forces the other most of the times results are temporary. Why wasting the Subconscious Mind Power?
A couple of good examples when the Conscious Mind wins are eating disorders like Anorexia and smoking. Anorexia is one of the worst eating disorders and it is especially bad because those who suffer from it have an extremely strong Conscious Mind.
The Subconscious Mind main goal is to keep us alive at all costs yet those suffering from Anorexia are able to force their Subconscious Mind power to obey their orders and quit eating up to a point where even if they change their mind and want to begin eating again their body doesn’t accept food anymore. Or with enormous difficulties.
Another example is smoking, let’s admit it, smoking isn’t the most natural behavior and all smokers force themselves to smoke using their Conscious Mind until smoking becomes a habit and a dependence. They are able to force the Subconscious Mind to obey their directives so much that quitting smoking becomes one of the hardest thing to do, even if the smoker really wants to and this is due in part for the substances contained in tobacco but also for the habit of smoking which has been installed in the Subconscious.
This is why the Subconscious Mind well used can take you wherever you want.
But there are also times when the Subconscious Mind can overcome the Conscious Mind’s directives or at least tries to fight back. Sometimes they seem a kind of sabotages but in reality they are messages from the Subconscious Mind that it doesn’t agree with the Conscious Mind’s decisions.
For example when you forget things, meetings, dates, job interviews which you would normally remember without problems. Or when you say something but your face expresses just the contrary and the others see it. Another example is when you have to go somewhere and everything seems to happen preventing you to arrive, like losing the keys of your car, the post-it with the address, you hit the sidewalk and the tire gets punctured. Or you forgot to set the alarm clock.
And let’s not forget the Freudian slip, when you want to say something and what comes out of your mouth is a completely different thing. Usually what you really say is what you really think.
As you can see there are times when the Conscious Mind wins and other times when the Subconscious Mind is the winner or at least a fierce opponent. What is really important is that the only way to achieve long-lasting or permanent results, and to achieve your goals, is to have both the Conscious and the Subconscious Mind to agree with the importance of your goals and to have them to cooperate. This way you can access and control the full power of the Mind.
As I’ve said with the pony express example your Conscious Mind usually wins over the Subconscious but it is much better to have the horse going where you want with kindness than having to use spurs and horse whip. Better, faster and permanent results.
When the Conscious agrees and cooperate with the Subconscious Mind nothing can stop you.
What do you think?
