The Hypnotism Weekly is a resource to show you how you can change your life and make it better through Hypnotism and other Self Improvement tools but in a friendly manner. I’m sure that knowing how to hypnotize yourself is the best thing you can learn to improve your life.
I strongly believe that Hypnosis or Hypnotism is the best tool around to change everyone’s life but first let me tell you a couple of things about it.
Hypnotism is simply a focused state of mind when the Conscious and Subconscious mind are connected and communicate with each other thus allowing us to use the full power of the mind. When we can use the mental power we possess there is virtually nothing that we can’t accomplish. And this is why Hypnotism can be useful in almost every field of human life.
Virtually because nothing works 100 percent of times with 100 percent of people, even conventional medicine can’t heal everyone. But Hypnotism is the best and fastest tool to change either your mind, your body or your whole life.
Also many different techniques are in reality variation of Hypnotism, or Self Hypnosis; things like Creative Visualization, Mindfulness Meditation, Manifesting with Affirmations and so on. At the end they all deal with a relaxed but focused state of mind, visualization or repetitions of simple suggestions, that is Hypnotism. Can you see now why knowing how to hypnotize yourself is so important? Because it’s the basis of every change you want to bring into your life.
Hypnosis in itself has different branches from very simple to very complicated. This has to do with the fact that every Hypnotist or Hypnotherapist is different and finds himself more comfortable using one or another hypnotic technique; the fact that every client is different and has better results using one hypnotic technique instead on another, even if this is a point I don’t always agree much as simplicity in my humble opinion is always the best way to go; and it has to do with the fact that even Hypnotism isn’t immune from human nature, that is complicating simple things and money issues. Let me explain better the last two points.
Hypnosis is complicated, I don’t think so. From what I’ve learned as a certified Hypnotist actually Hypnotism is a pretty common state we enter many times a day, like Highway Hypnosis when you arrive in a place without being aware of what you have done on the road, one moment you are outside your home in your car and some time later you’re at the grocery store, but you don’t remember you’ve driven, has it ever happened to you?
Also, it might be I’m pretty particular but once while undergoing an hypnotic session with a Hypnotist who uses a pretty long and convoluted technique in the middle of the session my Conscious mind began asking me “When will he arrive at the point?”, “How long is this going to take?” and so on. Obviously the session was ineffective and the reason was that he was making it long, boring and unnecessarily complicated.
The money thing. Sometimes a long, different approach can be the right way to help the client, sometimes it’s just an excuse to charge him hundreds of dollars, or euros. As in every field even Hypnotism has a dark side, just like it happens that there are doctors who always go for surgery to raise the bill, or mechanics who repair perfectly working pieces. Sometimes things are complicated because they are, sometimes Hypnosis is made complicated on purpose, to differentiate from fellow Hypnotists and to earn more money. Also everyone likes new things especially if someone is looking for a magic bullet.
But if almost every human being experiences hypnotic states normally throughout the day then Hypnotism can’t be a complicated thing right? And learning how to hypnotize yourself can’t be such a complicated matter right?
Hypnotherapy on the other hand, that is the therapy part performed after a state of Hypnosis has been reached, requires the Hypnotist to know his job and to find the correct way for the client to enjoy the benefits of the session. However there is a difference between charging for your professionalism and ability and making things longer and complicated just to go from 100 dollars to 200 and more right?
These numbers are just used as examples obviously, every Hypnotherapist has the right to ask every fee he sees fit, but my point is that as a client you have to watch and pay for quality and not being tricked by smoky or woolly theories. Which many times prove ineffective, especially in the long run. Obviously we can’t stop studying and testing Hypnotism to understand better how it works and how we can make it more effective but this doesn’t mean that we have to continuously reinvent the wheel. We just have to make it better, and possibly simpler. This is just my opinion about Hypnosis, feel free to add yours with a comment down the page.
This website is devoted to show Hypnotism as simple and as effective as possible, and the more I know the more I’ll show you. I prefer the verb show instead of teach, less pompous right? So if you want to learn how to hypnotize yourself here you’ll find plenty of articles.
What do you think? Could you leave a comment? Or am I still a pompous and boring writer?
I hope not.
Andrea
Note: Hypnosis and Hypnotism are the same thing, just like Hypnotherapist and Hypnotist. Those working in shows are normally called Stage Hypnotists.
