Mind Control, Mind Power and Brainwashing
If you can control your mind you can unleash its power. And if you can unleash your mind power you can achieve almost any reasonable goal you might have. But what if someone else wants to control your mind?
Using your mind power is not so easy, even if at times with the right technique it is at least simple as you already know if you’ve read my other articles. But this is also a positive thing because sometimes others aim at manipulating our mind against our free will and if controlling our mind power is difficult this is also a defence against those who want us to behave in a specific way.
If using our mind power and controlling our mind would be so easy we would be like puppets in the hands of someone else. Not that there isn’t someone who would be very interested in it though.
With Mind Control usually it’s meant to control the mind of others, usually either against their will or without them even knowing that their mind is being controlled or manipulated. Controlling our mind can work against us, when it’s done by someone else who want us to obey commands, so to speak; and for our benefit when we do it by ourselves or with a Hypnotherapist in order to achieve a desired result.
Actually when you have an hypnotic session you are willingly having someone else to control your mind, with your approval and for your benefit. So we can say that Mind Control can be beneficial or not depending who does it and why it is done. If we want it or not.
Some techniques to control our mind against our will go under the name of Covert or Undercover Hypnosis, Brainwashing, and so on. Even some drugs, like pentothal in movies, can make us to go against our will. Do they work? Yes, but only in particular and specific cases. Under normal conditions no one can make us to go against our will and our approved rules of behavior.
But if someone is very suggestible or have been forced to remain awake for days without rest then it becomes easier to manipulate and brainwash his mind. Anyway it’s pretty difficult that you become the target of such a specific technique; we are talking about real life here, not Bourne Identity. Great movie series anyway.
Even if brainwashed though it doesn’t mean that someone is going to obey commands automatically. If something goes against our spirit we fight it with all our might. This is one of the cases where our Conscious Mind is our best friend as it controls what kind of behavior we have, even if our Subconscious Mind has been instructed to do something different. Try to quit smoking, even with Hypnosis, and you’ll see what I mean.
Actually, every time we want to use our mind power we have to use mind control techniques: deep breathing, self hypnosis techniques, meditation, relaxation and so on. We need to control our mind to focus its powers and reach our desired outcome.
But what if someone else wants to use mind control techniques against our will? Is it possible that common mind control techniques are routinely used to influence our behavior? Is our mind power commonly at risk of being misdirected and wrongly used?
There are many techniques used to manipulate our behavior, and this will be the topic of a future article. I’ll just mention one technique: Linking emotions with a specific product, a mind control technique used in almost every advertisement. With the obvious goal to have you to buy the target product “automatically” by inspiring positive feelings toward it.
Did you have ever seen an ad where there is a soft, calming music, possibly a music that reminds you, or gives you the feeling of beautiful times when you felt safe and well? And then a product is presented while this music is still playing? Or happy family images using a particular product when everyone is smiling and cheerful? This is done so that next time you go to the supermarket when you’ll see that product you’ll instantly remember that beautiful feeling and probably you’ll end up buying that product. It makes you feel so good, even if you don’t really need it. But it’s an emotional desire.
This is just an example but demonstrates how many times someone tries to manipulate our feelings and our behaviors, most of the times without having us being aware of it. Mind control against our free will. And if you go on showing the same ad over and over you get an effect similar to Brainwashing and a lot of people buy that product. They use this technique because it works.
We need to know techniques of Mind Control, like Hypnosis, to focus the power of our mind, but we must be aware that those techniques are routinely used to try to control our behavior. That’s why in my next article I’m going to tell you a simple Self Hypnosis Technique to avoid Brainwashing and other Persuasion Techniques.
